You mentioned using a wire comb and/or wire mesh brush for cleaning paint brushes well and said you'd post pictures of these things on the blog, but I don't see them.

Is it possible you could add the pictures of these tools? I find that a lot of times when I go into a big box store and describe for a certain tool, sometimes the person I ask knows even less than I do, but if I know what it looks like ahead of time I'm all set.

Thanks for a great podcast/blog!

Gary - Thanks for contacting The Handyguys Podcast. We got your voicemail.

It sounds like you have a lot of painting of different types of surfaces. Sprayers work best, in my opinion, when you have someone come behind you and roll the paint while its still wet. This will give you a much better finish for most surfaces. You will also be using a wide variety of paints and stains. If you are going to get a sprayer I would get the most versatile one you could. The sprayer should be able to handle different types of materials and also support a roller attachment to eliminate a second person back rolling.

This one comes to mind
<a href="http://astore.amazon.com/handyguys-20/detail/B000V9X3X6" rel="nofollow">http://astore.amazon.com/handyguys-20/detail/B000V9X3X6</a>

One thing to know about sprayers in general. There are different spray tips for different types of materials. The manual or the paint manufacturer should be able give you some guidance here. Also - make sure the paint is thoroughly mixed, no lumps, preferably strained before using it. The paint may also need to be thinned. Bottom line - make sure you read and follow all the directions to ensure you have a positive experience.

Here is the roller attachment

You can read more about it here

Hi Guys

I left the voicemail about paint sprayers but not sure that I left my name - Garry Pycroft - or contact details :garrypycroft@yahoo.com , anyway I'd really like your guidance on what paint sprayer you would suggest for an 1800 sq ft home where I need to paint exterior and interior walls , fences and even concrete. I've seen some amazing work thats been done with painted concrete and would love some guidance on this.
Looking at the sprayers I'm lost as to whether I should go for an "airless" system or not.

Thanks
